Coronaviruses are a kind of virus. There are several different kinds, and some produce disease. A newly recognised coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, has caused a worldwide pandemic of respiratory disease, called COVID-19.
COVID 19 & Corona Virus Symptoms
COVID-19 affects various people in varying ways. Most infected individuals will exhibit mild to moderate illness & recover without hospitalisation.

How dangerous is COVID-19?
Although for most individuals, COVID-19 causes only mild illness, it can make some people seriously ill. More infrequently, the disease can be fatal. Older people and those with pre-existing medical circumstances (such as high blood pressure, heart difficulties or diabetes) appear to be more defenceless.
What kind of virus is COVID-19?
Coronaviruses are a broad family of viruses that cause respiratory infections. Those can range from the common cold to more severe conditions.
COVID-19 is a disease produced by a new form of coronavirus. It was first reported in December 2019 in Wuhan City in China. Other coronaviruses cover Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).
The International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses has formally called the virus that causes COVID-19, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 or SARS-CoV-2 due to its genetic relatedness to the virus that produced the SARS outbreak in 2003.
Antibiotics are not adequate against viruses. Viruses cant be treated with antibiotics. Most of the symptoms can be treated with supportive medical attention.
Using open preliminary data, the average time from onset to clinical recovery for mild cases is about two weeks and is 3-6 weeks for patients with a severe or critical condition.
